Borough of Kennett Square  - Director of Public Works

Borough of Kennett Square, in beautiful Chester County, PA with 6,000+ population and covering just over one (1) sq. mile seeks candidates for the position of Director of Public Works.  The Borough is an established community experiencing an influx of redevelopment and known for its many festivals, events and charming business district.  The Borough’s Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the streets, water, sewer, storm water and parking systems, as well as working closely and supporting the main street organization and police department.

The department is comprised of 10 full-time employees and seasonally up to 13 employees.  The Director is responsible for the leadership of all Public Works programs and matters including, but not limited to: streets maintenance, water and wastewater utilities, parking facilities, grounds maintenance, and storm sewer maintenance. The Director of Public Works reports directly to the Borough Manager. 

All applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience at the managerial, supervisory or advanced technical level in Public Works, strong computer skills and familiarity with PA DEP, PennDOT and USEPA reporting. CDL Class B and/or water or wastewater operator’s license preferred. Engineering or experience in utility-related organizations is desired.

Borough of Kennett Square Receptionist and Cashier

The Borough of Kennett Square has an immediate opening for a part time Receptionist/Cashier.  Applicant must be bilingual, punctual and reliable, work well with the public, possess excellent communication & phone skills and be detail oriented.
