Public Services

The Kennett Square Police Department offers a number of services on a daily basis. These include but are not limited to:

    • Vehicle Lock Out opening
    • Fingerprinting Requests: The Kennett Square Police Department will conduct fingerprinting requests for residents and visitors for non-criminal related inquiries. Fingerprinting requests will be fulfilled BY APPOINTMENT on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS from 9AM - 2PM. Please call the office at 610-444-0501 to schedule an appointment. Please allow time during your visit as this non-emergency service may be deferred to to more serious calls or needs for police action. There is $10 fee for Borough Residents and $20 fee for non-Borough Residents. 
    • Household Vacation checks
    • Animal Control Services - Brandywine Valley SPCA
    • Prescription Medication Collection Box Program (during normal business hours, M-F 8:30-4:30)

Products Accepted

      • Prescription and over-the-counter solid medications
      • Tablets and capsules
      • Liquid medications in their original containers (i.e. cough syrups, cold medicines)
      • Prescription patches
      • Medical creams and ointments
      • Vitamins
      • Nasal sprays
      • Pet medicines

Products Not Accepted

      • Intravenous Solutions
      • Injectables, syringes, and needles (i.e. EpiPens)*

*These items should be taken to a health care professional’s office or to a hospital for proper disposal

    • Hydrogen peroxide
    • Compressed cylinders or aerosols (e.g., asthma inhalers)
    • Iodine-containing medications
    • Thermometers
    • Alcohol

The Prescription Medication Collection Box Program is in collaboration with the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. We invite you to bring your old and unused prescription medicine to the Police Department for propert disposal in our secure collection box.
