Taxes

The Borough of Kennett Square levies two types of taxes, Real Estate Taxes and 511 Taxes.

Real Estate Taxes

All property owners are responsible for all taxes on their property. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the taxpayer from the responsibility to pay.

According to State Statute the Borough Council is able to levy up to 30 mills without court intervention.  The current millage is 5.35. This works out to be $535.00 per $100,000 of property assessment.

Berkheimer Associates, a statewide tax collection firm, collects the Borough Real Estate Taxes.
